Plans for the redevelopment of the historic Paisley Grammar site on Glasgow Road could take a significant step forward on Tuesday, with the proposals recommended for approval.
The application is being considered in two stages, with the first phase involving the demolition of the existing side and rear buildings buildings on the site, keeping the main historic B listed building, clearing the area to make way for the proposed redevelopment.
The second stage would see five blocks of new flats constructed on the former school site.
The proposals represent a major change to the historic Paisley Grammar site, which has been a familiar landmark on Glasgow Road for generations.
If councillors approve the plans, the demolition phase would pave the way for the next stage of the development, with construction of the proposed residential blocks to follow.
A decision is expected at Tuesday’s Planning and Climate Change Policy Board meeting at 1pm.
