Demolition work over the past two weeks has seen 8, 10 and 12 Howard Street brought down by Dem-Master, marking another significant change to this part of Paisley.

Number 12 was the first to be demolished, followed by numbers 10 and 8. It is understood that clearance work will now begin, with the rubble being removed before further demolition takes place.

Scottish Power has also confirmed that power supplies still need to be disconnected from a few of the remaining properties before demolition can continue.

The flats may have been bricks and mortar, but for the families who lived there, they were much more than that.

Over the years, these homes will have witnessed countless births, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and sadly, deaths. Generations of families will have grown up behind those walls, creating memories that will remain long after the buildings themselves have disappeared.

The wider demolition programme will see the buildings at:

📍 9 Ladyburn Street
📍 35–43 McKerrell Street
📍 8–16 Howard Street

eventually disappear.
