Keep an eye on your change — more than 7 million new 10p coins featuring the portrait of King Charles III are now entering circulation across the UK.

The new coins mark the first time the King’s portrait has appeared on a 10p coin, following the introduction of his portrait on other denominations.

Two versions are being released:

🔹 600,000 coins dated 2023
🔹 6.5 million coins dated 2026

That means the 2023-dated version could prove particularly interesting to collectors, with only 600,000 being released into circulation.

The reverse of the new 10p features the capercaillie, a rare and threatened woodland bird found in Scotland. The design forms part of the Royal Mint’s British flora and fauna series and reflects King Charles III’s long-standing interest in nature and conservation.

So, the next time you’re handed some change in a shop, supermarket, pub or café, take a look at your 10p coins — you might just find a new King Charles III coin! 👑🪙
