Police are appealing for information after a driver reportedly fled the scene of a crash in a residential area of Paisley this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to a crash involving one vehicle at Londis on Brediland Road at around 7.10am today, Tuesday, September 15.

The driver is understood to have left the scene following the incident when the car mounted the pavement knocking out the large Costa coffee sign before going down the hill at the Sid of the building, with police now carrying out enquiries to trace them.

The car pictured and a black corsa was stolen from Shortroods this morning after what’s believed to be two males broke into a property stealing the car keys, wallet and purse from the property. The first male suspect is described as wearing a cap with a grey sports top which had a white emblem on the left of the chest, black jogging bottoms with white stripes and nike trainers with reflective sections at the laces. The second suspect was wearing a grey hat, black top that had a hood with what looks like orange sections on the inner sleeves, dark shorts possibly black with a red bumbag and carrying a string type carrier bag over his right side.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:

“Around 7.10am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, we received a report of a crash involving one vehicle on Brediland Road, Paisley.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the vehicle in the area around the time of the crash, or may have relevant dashcam footage is urged to contact Police Scotland.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
