Two 12-year-old boys wearing balaclavas were stopped by officers after allegedly being spotted riding an e-scooter the wrong way along an M8 slip road at Hillington.
Officers were on patrol on Tuesday, 29 September, when they observed the two youths travelling in the wrong direction on the slip road.
The boys were subsequently stopped and returned home, with both being charged with road traffic offences.
The e-scooter was also seized.
Police have since confirmed that one of the parents has also been charged with offences under the Road Traffic Act.
The incident highlights the potential dangers of e-scooters being used on roads, particularly around busy motorway junctions.
