The fencing which was put in place around the Virgin Money branch on Causeyside Street, Paisley, following concerns over falling masonry, has now been removed after an inspection of the building.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended the branch on Wednesday morning after masonry was reported to have fallen from the building, with the road temporarily closed while the situation was assessed.

Contractors subsequently erected fencing around the branch as a precaution, with the bank closing its doors to customers.

The fencing has now been removed following a further inspection, but the Virgin Money branch itself remains closed.

Customers are still turning up at the Causeyside Street branch, only to find that it remains unavailable.

At present, there appears to be no indication of when the branch will reopen, leaving customers wondering when normal service will resume.

The removal of the fencing may suggest that the immediate concerns surrounding the building have been addressed, but with the bank still closed, questions remain over what work is required before customers can return.

Have you turned up at Virgin Money only to find it closed?
