Storm Boelo swept into Renfrewshire with heavy rain and strong winds, but it appears the area has escaped relatively lightly compared with other parts of the country and some of the storms we have experienced in the past.

While the weather certainly made its presence felt, there have been reports of a number of road closures due to fallen trees and localised flooding, causing disruption for motorists.

🌳 Fallen trees and flooded roads

The combination of strong winds and persistent rain has created challenging conditions, with motorists being urged to take extra care and remain alert to potential hazards on the roads.

✈️ Glasgow Airport passengers have a bumpy ride!

Meanwhile, it looks as though Storm Boelo may have given some passengers arriving at Glasgow Airport a rather more memorable experience than they had bargained for!

With aircraft making attempted approaches before aborting their landings due to the challenging conditions, there may have been a few extra prayers said in the skies above Renfrewshire.

And if the turbulence continued, there might even have been a sudden shortage of loo roll in the airport terminals! 😳😂

🌬️ Have we escaped the worst?

Although Renfrewshire appears to have avoided the worst of the conditions experienced elsewhere, the situation is a reminder of just how quickly Scottish weather can turn.

With strong winds and heavy rain continuing to pose potential hazards, residents are advised to keep an eye on weather updates and avoid roads affected by flooding or fallen trees.
