Officers from Renfrewshire Police met with partners, MSPs, MPs and elected members on Thursday to officially launch the Renfrewshire Easter Campaign, aimed at tackling violence, disorder and acquisitive crime across the area.
Chief Inspector Iain Farmer, Renfrewshire’s Local Area Commander, said the launch highlighted the strong partnership working across the region.
“This week has seen the launch of our Easter Campaign, which flagships the positive working relationship that we have within Renfrewshire with our partners to tackle local issues,” he said.
“I discussed with those who attended what our plans are for the holidays and how we intend to run specific initiatives throughout the period to keep our communities safe.”
However, less than 48 hours later — just feet away from where the campaign was launched — police remained on scene following an altercation at a nearby taxi rank.

Forensic officers were seen combing the area on Saturday morning as investigations into the disturbance continued.
Police have yet to release full details about the incident, but officers maintained a visible presence at the location while enquiries were carried out.
