A healthcare company operating pharmacies across Paisley and the west of Scotland has entered administration, according to a filing with Companies House.
Amiry & Gilbride Healthcare Limited, the holding company for LP North 14 Limited and LP North 15 Limited, formally entered administration on April 29.

The appointed joint administrators are James Stephen, Kerry Bailey and David Wallis of BDO LLP, the accountancy and business advisory firm.
The company operates 18 pharmacies across Glasgow, Paisley, Lanarkshire and the Highlands, with five located in the Renfrewshire area. Three of those are understood to be non-NHS private pharmacies.

Amiry & Gilbride promotes a range of healthcare services through its website, including prescription locker collections and a free medicine pouching service designed to help patients manage medication.
Accounts published last August for the 12 months ending July 31, 2024 showed the business recorded a £2.2 million loss on a turnover of £13.4 million.
Headquartered on York Street in Glasgow, the company was incorporated in February 2023 following what its financial report described as the merger “of two established multiple pharmacy operators”.

The same report stated the business “was specifically established to acquire pharmacy assets released during the divestment and break-up of one of the UK’s largest pharmacy operators”, suggesting several of the pharmacies were formerly operated by LloydsPharmacy.
Directors of the company include pharmacists John Gilbride, Sara Nickkho-Amiry and Mahyar Nickkho-Amiry, alongside Dr Audrey Gilbride.

Despite the administration process, BDO stressed that the pharmacy businesses themselves continue to operate normally.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “Neither of the subsidiaries have been placed into administration and these entities are continuing to trade the pharmacies as normal.

“The joint administrators have established a new governance structure for the subsidiaries which will now operate under the direction of John Gilbride and his experienced team.
“The joint administrators will work with John and his team to gain a clear understanding of the financial position of the AGH group. Once complete they will then look to sell the group via a marketing process.
“Interested parties are encouraged to make contact with the joint administrators without delay.”
