Filming for a new Sky Original drama series starring BAFTA-winning actor James McAvoy is set to get underway in Paisley from today, with production scheduled to take place on several dates throughout June 2026.
The six-part crime thriller, Meantime, is adapted from comedian and author Frankie Boyle’s debut novel of the same name. Set in Glasgow in 2015, the dark comedy follows Felix McAveety, an alcoholic and Valium addict who finds himself as the prime suspect in a murder investigation after his best friend is killed.

As the net closes around him, Felix recruits a chaotic friend and an ageing detective-turned-crime novelist to help clear his name and uncover the truth behind the killing.
Residents and visitors may notice increased activity in Paisley town centre as cast, crew and background artistes arrive to film scenes for the new television production.
Some scenes will be filmed during the evening and at night around the Coats venue. While the scenes themselves are not expected to be noisy, the production is expected to involve up to 100 crew members along with around 100 background artistes.
To accommodate filming, temporary parking restrictions will be in place on Lady Lane and sections of the High Street from Towhead Terrace through to Wellmeadow Street.
The production is the latest major television project to choose Paisley as a filming location, further highlighting the town’s growing appeal to film and television companies seeking distinctive Scottish locations.
Residents and businesses in affected areas are being advised to take note of temporary traffic and parking arrangements while filming is underway.
