Paisley was transformed into the streets of Glasgow on Monday evening as filming got underway for Meantime, a new six-part Sky Original drama starring BAFTA-winning actor James McAvoy.
The town centre doubled as Glasgow for scenes from the upcoming crime thriller, with film crews taking over locations as cameras rolled late into the evening. Residents and passers-by were treated to the sight of McAvoy and a host of other cast members as production got underway.

Meantime is adapted from comedian, writer and broadcaster Frankie Boyle’s debut novel of the same name. Set in Glasgow in 2015, the darkly comic crime drama follows Felix McAveety, an alcoholic and Valium addict whose life spirals out of control when his best friend is murdered.
As the police investigation intensifies, Felix finds himself at the centre of the inquiry and becomes the prime suspect in the killing, forcing him to confront both his own demons and the mounting suspicion surrounding him.
The series marks another major production to choose Paisley as a filming location, with the town’s historic streets and architecture continuing to attract television and film crews looking for authentic urban backdrops.
Production activity brought a buzz to the town centre, with onlookers gathering to catch a glimpse of the actors and the filming process as Paisley briefly stepped into the role of Scotland’s largest city.
Meantime is expected to air on Sky as a six-part series, bringing Frankie Boyle’s acclaimed novel to the screen with James McAvoy leading the cast.
