Detectives are appealing for information after a 53-year-old man was seriously injured during a disturbance in Paisley on Monday evening.
Police Scotland said officers were called to George Street at around 8pm on Monday, 13 July, 2026, following reports of a disturbance in which a man was seriously injured.

The 53-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
Officers have launched an attempted murder investigation and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
A police presence remains in the area while investigations continue, with a number of roads currently closed. These include George Street at Barr Place, Lady Lane at Argyle Street and Castle Street at Argyle Street, with local diversions in place.
Detective Sergeant Daniel Small said: “It’s vital we trace the person responsible for this violent attack and I’m appealing for information from the public.
“Were you in the area at the time and saw what happened? Do you have CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which has captured something of significance? If you have any information which could help, please get in touch.

“We have an increased presence in the area with officers carrying out CCTV and door-to-door enquiries. Anyone with concerns can speak to these officers.”
